Dear ACF Church Family:
On behalf of the Airport Christian Fellowship (ACF) Outreach Committee, we would like to ask you to join us in making a difference for a family this Thanksgiving. As a member of our church, we know that you are aware of the substantial needs of many community members. Unlike most, these families spend Thanksgiving, just as they do every other day. They eat whatever is in the house and continue to worry how they will pay their bills.
With your support, ACF Outreach is hoping to provide a complete Thanksgiving dinner to several of these families. Our goal is up to 50 families, depending on available funds. Recipients’ names are being provided by a variety of private, social and educational sources. They range from young parents with small children to seniors without local family. Meals provided will be based on family size. All will include a turkey, potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, rolls, vegetables and pie.
Working with local grocery stores, we are able to purchase all the food items for a complete meal, for an average $30.00 per family. ACF is hopeful that you, along with other church congregants, would be willing to sponsor one or more families. We would like to collect all donations (cash or check) by November 17th., 2019. Church members will secure and deliver all meals on Sunday, November 24th.
We are also looking for names and/or addresses of families in need who could benefit from a Thanksgiving meal this year. Also, please let us know if you are willing to help deliver and brighten a family’s day on November 24th. The bags of food will be ready to go directly after church on that Sunday.
