Job Description: Part-Time (7 – 8 hrs per week)
Title: Facilities Cleaning & Minor Maintenance
Airport Christian Fellowship’s Facilities Cleaning and Minor Maintenance is responsible for administering the tasks and functions of the church facilities cleaning and maintenance in support of the service practices of the ministerial staff and ministry leads. As an employee of ACF, it is crucial that this individual personally subscribe to ACF’s Core Values and maintain godly life priorities in family, home, and church. The Facilities Cleaning and Minor Maintenance person is responsible to clean and maintain the building.
Service Relationships: The Facilities Cleaning & Minor Maintenance person is directly responsible to the overseer of this position from the stewardship board.
Primary Functions:
- Represents ACF
- Lives out ACF’s mission, vision, and values in all aspects of one’s life: prayerfully, emotionally, financially, and socially.
- Works with ACF Leadership to make ACF a welcoming host to outside individuals and groups using our facility.
- Ideally volunteers in the church in some capacity outside of the paid position, as the opportunity presents itself.
- Cleaning and Care of ACF Building and Grounds
- Keep building in clean and orderly condition
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty the weekend trash
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Perform minor repairs
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to self, floors or fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass doors/entryways, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Straighten any chairs and tables that are out of place
- Replace drinking cooler cups, as needed
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. (bi-weekly or sooner if needed)
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures (quarterly or sooner if needed)
- Take initiative to pick up debris inside or outside the building
- Monitor building safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Notify stewardship board contact person concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Requirements
- Work well when supervisors are not present.
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning and other janitorial work.
- Basic math skills.
- Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
- General
- Removes garbages and does a light cleaning/tidying of the building on Sunday afternoons or Mondays.
- Resumes cleaning and does any re-cleaning necessary at the end of the week with the goal in mind to have the building be in clean and orderly condition for the Sunday service.
- Maintains an organized supply area.
- Participates in annual employee self-evaluations, and reviews with Stewardship Board and other leaders and peers.
